About Karen Altizer

Hello! I’m Karen, and it is truly an honor to meet you. My heart’s desire is to walk alongside and support you in the midst of uncertainty. Because of my personal journey, God has called me into this space to serve those who are experiencing grief, suicide-related grief loss, anxiety, PTSD, mental health, church hurt, marriage, and parenting. I strongly believe that God is the lifter of our heads, and that struggles and trials are important parts of our story that must be seen, recognized, and remembered.

It is a joy and privilege to follow Christ and to serve Him. I have been a volunteer for various roles in my church and community for over 22 years, and it has been an honor to serve as a facilitator with GriefShare for over 10 years. Teaching and education are priorities, which has led me to ongoing training to obtain multiple coaching certifications.

Walking, hiking, jogging, reading, and spending time with my family delights my soul. A fun (and surprising) fact about me is that I am a hobby breeder of AKC registered Cocker Spaniels.

Karen was so kind and patient to listen to my struggles. She helped me to understand that I have layered grief and that I seem to have a grasp on juggling it which I seem to question myself daily. She made me feel loved and that I mattered. Her prayers at the beginning and end were so comforting. Looking forward to our next meeting.
